The 17th KeG Busan regional qualifier is set to take place on 27 July at the Busan Esports Arena (BRENA).

This event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organised by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. It aims to select Busan representatives for the 17th President's Cup Amateur Esports Tournament (KeG) national finals, which will be held in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, from 16 to 17 August.

A total of 10 competitors will be selected: five for League of Legends, three for Brawl Stars, and two for FC Online. The preliminary rounds will be held online on 26 July, followed by the main event offline on 27 July.

Applications are open until 24 July for League of Legends (5-player team), Brawl Stars (3-player team), and FC Online (individual). The top-ranked teams and individuals will secure their spots as Busan representatives. While there are no local residency restrictions, participants cannot compete in KeG qualifiers for other regions.

The KeG has been a national amateur esports tournament since 2007. Busan secured second place overall in the 13th and 15th editions and received the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister's Award for exemplary local government during the 14th tournament.

After finishing fourth overall last year, Busan is providing selected representatives with professional coaching, play analysis, teamwork training, content production, official uniforms, and support for the national finals to improve performance. BRENA trainees will also gain hands-on experience by participating in content production and onsite operations for the representative squad.

Director Kim Tae-yeol of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency stated, "We are building a platform around BRENA where any citizen can experience and grow through esports," adding, "We will continue to revitalise the local ecosystem through various programmes that engage the public."
