Riot Games announced details regarding the early access launch of 2XKO on the 24th. Built upon the League of Legends (LoL) IP, this free-to-play fighting game reimagines iconic champions like Ahri, Yasuo, and Blitzcrank, translating their signature kits into the fighting game genre.

The early access period kicks off on October 8th (KST). It will feature new content including a 'Combo Practice' mode to refine your skills, alongside a fresh Battle Pass, a ranked system, and balance adjustments. Crucially, any cosmetic items unlocked during this phase will carry over and remain in your account.

Starting with this Season 0 early access, 2XKO plans to roll out five full seasons through 2026. Players will no longer need to apply for invite codes to play 2XKO; they can jump in and experience various content, including seasonal ranked resets, new champions, and updated Battle Passes.

Tom Cannon, the Executive Producer of 2XKO, expressed gratitude to players worldwide for their participation in the beta tests and invited everyone to enjoy the improved version of 2XKO during the early access launch.

Meanwhile, 2XKO is launching the 'First Impact' program to support community tournament organizers and provide competitive opportunities for players. Riot Games plans to sponsor 22 community tournaments across the Americas, Europe, and Asia through the end of 2025, providing prize bonuses and additional rewards for 2-player team victories.

The first 'First Impact' tournament is set to take place at EVO France from October 10th (Fri) to October 12th (Sun). Furthermore, the first domestic tournament, the 'SOOP Super Tournament', is scheduled for November 1st (Sat) to November 2nd (Sun), with more details to follow.

Michael Sherman, the Head of Competitive Play for 2XKO, stated that community tournaments are the backbone of the genre and the core of 2XKO, adding that they will continue to support 'First Impact' events to keep the 2XKO community vibrant.
