In a nail-biting showdown that concluded on November 9, local time, T1 managed to scrape past KT Rolster (KT) in a 3-2 victory to claim the 2025 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) title.

Game 1 initially looked like a walk in the park for KT. They caught Oner’s Xin Zhao lurking in a bush early on, with Cuzz’s Wukong joining the fray to secure the kill, followed promptly by the elimination of Gumayusi’s Varus after his Flash was burned. By the 10-minute mark, they even managed to turn the tables on Keria and Doran during a top-lane skirmish, effectively widening the gap in global gold and objective control.

T1, however, signaled a comeback around the 18-minute mark during a chaotic dragon pit fight. While Oner’s Xin Zhao played the role of a cheeky nuisance in the heart of the enemy lines, Doran’s Ambessa shattered the opposition, securing the dragon and four kills. From that point, T1’s composition—Ambessa, Poppy, Xin Zhao, Taliyah, and Varus—clicked into gear, snowballing through every subsequent objective contest to snatch Game 1.

Game 2 was a relatively cagey affair until the mid-game, with KT steadily accumulating incremental advantages. While T1 held the edge on neutral objectives, KT remained ahead in kill score and global gold. A brief skirmish in the mid-lane at 18 minutes saw T1 narrow the gap, but KT quickly regained their composure and maintained the upper hand in the follow-up scuffle.

The tide truly turned during the 33-minute Baron Nashor contest. Perfect’s Rek'Sai effectively neutralized T1’s backline, while the rest of the team made short work of Faker’s Sylas. Having secured the high ground in the power struggle, KT pushed T1 back, claimed the Baron buff, and marched on to snatch the inhibitor and the dragon soul before razing the Nexus.

In Game 3, KT’s frontline was simply immense. After a mid-game trade of blows, the 22-minute dragon fight saw Cuzz’s Dr. Mundo and Perfect’s K'Sante bulldozing T1’s damage dealers. During the ensuing Baron fight, Bdd’s Syndra and Peter’s Alistar provided a clinic on CC chaining. With their frontline holding strong, KT secured the kills and the Baron buff, ballooning the gold lead and leaving T1 with no way back.

But never count T1 out. They pivoted in Game 4, showing consistent objective dominance. Despite KT leading in kills, T1 hoovered up the Void Grubs, Rift Herald, Atakan, and the first three dragons. KT fought tooth and nail to defend the fourth dragon—the soul point—but Keria’s Renata Glasc and Gumayusi’s Kalista put on a masterclass in initiating and kiting. T1 secured both the kills and the soul, turning the momentum decisively in their favor before closing the game with a Baron buff.
