The inaugural season of the seasonal content 'Galactic Disaster' has officially kicked off in Chaos Zero Nightmare.

Smilegate rolled out the first season of its new seasonal mode, 'Galactic Disaster', titled 'Forbidden Catalyst', on the 12th for Chaos Zero Nightmare. Each season runs for a nine-week stint, with fresh narrative beats and gameplay mechanics trickling in every three weeks.

This first season packs in a brand new story, an additional operative, and two fresh combat modes. You will also find the 'Lab 0' seasonal chaos, where you can grind for new cards and gear. Plus, there is a dedicated seasonal shop. By grinding through the seasonal chaos, you earn 'Season Save Data' to unlock further content. The best part? This data carries over even after the season wraps, letting you put it to use in the base game.

The 'Forbidden Catalyst' narrative centres on 'Yuki', the head of the Special Case Division. As a 5-star Order-attribute Striker, she is essentially a walking artillery piece built for AOE devastation. Her cards feature the 'Inspiration' buff, which boosts damage and slashes card costs—making her a tactician's dream. We reckon pairing her with support operatives like Cassius or Nia, who excel at drawing extra cards, is a solid choice.

We also have the arrival of the 5-star partner 'Westmacott'. Her passive ability amplifies the damage of drawn cards and those buffed by 'Inspiration'. She pairs beautifully with Yuki, and you can try your luck at pulling both of them in the pickup summon event running until the 3rd of next month.

In the 'Lab 0' seasonal chaos, you can hunt for new forbidden cards, eight seasonal common cards, new monster cards, and gear. Once you have built your deck, you can save it as 'Season Save Data' to dominate the 'Forbidden Catalyst' story or take on the 'Nebula Distortion' combat mode, where the difficulty—and the rewards—gradually climb as you push forward.

Meanwhile, the update lets you scavenge for event currency called 'Pure White Shards' by engaging with seasonal content. You can trade these in at the seasonal shop for a variety of rewards.
