Smilegate Future Lab and the Seoul Science Center have joined forces to strengthen creative education for the youth.

On the 21st, Smilegate Future Lab announced that they had inked a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Science Center to broaden creative learning environments for teenagers. The ceremony took place at Smilegate Future Lab, with Seoul Science Center Director Yoo Man-sun and Future Lab Foundation Center Head Baek Min-jung in attendance. The core mission is to strengthen collaborative creative education rooted in robotics and AI.

Through this tie-up, the two organizations plan to link the Seoul Robot & AI Museum’s 'Companion Robot Invention Program' with the 'Future B Challenge' from Smilegate Future Lab. The 'Companion Robot Invention Program' has been running since 2025. It has hosted 113 sessions and lectures, resulting in the creation of 34 prototypes using robotic tech. These efforts even led to tangible results, such as entries in 'Maker Faire Seoul 2025'.

The 'Future B Challenge' is a program where children and teenagers tackle social issues using digital tools. Over the last five years, it has engaged a cumulative total of more than 40,000 participants across schools and educational institutions nationwide.

Beyond just linking their programs, the two organizations are set to co-develop creative, scientific, and cultural content while sharing online and offline platforms. They also intend to broaden the scope of their cooperation by exchanging professional expertise and networks, and by sharing spaces for exhibitions and events.

Seoul Science Center Director Yoo Man-sun remarked, "This agreement is a meaningful example of public-private partnership expanding the creative learning ecosystem for future generations. We will continue to strive to provide learning opportunities that allow Seoul's youth to solve problems on their own and grow creatively."

Baek Min-jung, Center Head of the Smilegate Future Lab Foundation, added, "Through this collaboration with the Seoul Science Center, we can now expand creative learning experiences where teenagers explore cutting-edge technologies like AI and robotics, using them as tools for problem-solving. We are committed to supporting them so they don't just consume technology, but grow into meaningful creators connected to society."
