Clouded Leopard Entertainment announced on the 18th that the Korean version of the fairytale adventure 'The Princess, the Last Manuscript, and the Monster', developed by Nippon Ichi Software, will be released in the summer of 2026. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PS5, and has garnered attention as the latest entry in the storybook series.

'The Princess, the Last Manuscript, and the Monster' is the latest installment in the storybook series, following 'The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince' and 'The Wicked King and the Noble Hero'. It explores the interaction between otherworldly beings and humans, with character design and world-building by Sayaka Oda and scenario writing by Kento Jobana. The story follows Mono, a girl trying to save her sister from the 'Grim Reaper Disease', and her interactions with a goat-like creature named Merhendia and other girls transformed by the disease.

The game maintains the series' signature analog illustration-based storybook aesthetic. Notably, the field is rendered in monochrome, creating a strange and beautiful world distinct from previous entries. Players can directly interfere with the storybook world, 'destroying' or 'transforming' elements to create new gameplay experiences.

The protagonist, Mono, makes a contract with the monster Mer to explore the library and save her sister, Anchel, who has been isolated due to the Grim Reaper Disease. Mono uses Mer's 'Paper Eating' ability to destroy obstacles in the monochrome world and her own 'Turn Page' skill to transform the background and find paths. As Mer's abilities evolve, players can also use 'Paste' to restore destroyed objects or perform ranged attacks.

Mono and her companions adventure through the trauma-filled worlds of girls who have become storybooks due to the Grim Reaper Disease, collecting 'Memory Bookmarks' to save them. Defeating the Grim Reaper Princesses causes the monochrome world to bloom with color, symbolizing their salvation. The game features tragic stories of various princesses, including a shepherdess, a shrine maiden, and a third princess.
