AYANEO pulled the curtain back on the 8th regarding its upcoming handheld gaming PC, the AYANEO NEXT 2. The device is set to hit the market this June, with the company opting to kick things off via a crowdfunding campaign for pre-orders.

The AYANEO NEXT 2 campaign is live on Indiegogo, and the pricing varies by configuration. The top-tier model, packing a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 128GB of main memory, and 2TB of storage, is priced at an MSRP of $4,299 (approx. 6,290,000 KRW), with an early bird discount at $3,499 (approx. 5,110,000 KRW). The 64GB RAM/1TB storage variant sits at an MSRP of $2,699 (approx. 3,950,000 KRW) or $2,299 (approx. 3,360,000 KRW) early. Finally, the Ryzen AI Max 385 model with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage comes in at $1,999 (approx. 2,930,000 KRW) MSRP, or $1,799 (approx. 2,630,000 KRW) with the discount.

The device features a 9.06-inch OLED display running at 2400x1504 resolution. You get a variable refresh rate that cycles through 60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, and 165Hz. Under the hood of the premium units, AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 SoC boasts 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and the Radeon 8060S GPU, which AYANEO claims performs close to dedicated laptop graphics. To keep the device running, there is a massive 116Wh battery, distinguishing it from competitors that rely on external power banks. The cooling solution features dual fans and dual exhaust vents to ensure stable performance during heavy gaming sessions.

The controller layout of the AYANEO NEXT 2 includes analog sticks, a D-pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, and circular touchpads. The analog sticks utilize Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors, while the triggers feature Hall effect sensors.
