Smilegate announced on the 11th the winners of its indie game ceremony, the '2025 Stove Indie Awards'. The event aims to shine a spotlight on developers and titles that made a genuine mark on the platform and its community throughout 2025, whether they arrived in Early Access or as a full release.

The top honour, 'Game of the Year', was bagged by 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33'. With its polished world-building, compelling narrative, and a gameplay loop that feels remarkably cohesive, the title has firmly established itself as the crown jewel of the Stove Indie catalogue, proving its staying power with players across the year.

Joining 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' in the Top 10 are Smilegate-published titles 'Maid of Storm' and 'Alley: Ghost Trace'. It is also worth noting the inclusion of 'Artis Impact', a solo project that turned heads with its deep storytelling and distinct visual flair. The list is rounded out by fan favourites such as 'Contract X Love', 'French Connection', 'Platina Lab', and 'Lonely Broadcast'.

In the categories decided by player votes, 'Pour Me a Cup of Love!' took the crown for 'Heart-thumping Subculture', while the 'Best Localiser' award went to the trio of translators behind 'DROVA - Forsaken Kin'. 'Hospital X Life' secured the 'Best Alliance' title for its growth alongside the community, and 'Lonely Broadcast' nabbed the 'Creator Spotlight' for its stellar engagement with content creators.

The 'Frontier' award, reserved for those experimental titles that leave a global impression, went to 'Witch's Garden'. Meanwhile, the 'Stove Ambassador' titles were awarded to 'Zhangliang002', a solo Chinese dev and creator who helped bridge the gap for international talent, and 'Domdom-gun', a user who has been a pillar of the Stove Indie community with consistent, informative content.
