Crimson Desert has been building momentum since September 2025, when the release date was first announced and pre-orders went live. Any lingering doubts were effectively put to bed on January 21, when the studio officially announced it had 'Gone Gold,' locking in the final release build.

Furthermore, it currently sits at 6th place on the Steam wishlist charts. By February 3, it had already surpassed 2 million registrations, and in just the last month, it has surged past the 3 million mark. It is safe to assume this rapid spike in interest is directly fueling its climb up the sales charts.

According to the latest confirmed intel, the game's setting—the continent of 'Pywel'—is vast enough to exceed the scale of existing open-world masterpieces. You play as Kliff, the leader of the Grey Mane mercenaries, tasked with gathering scattered allies. Beyond the main narrative, there is a litany of life-sim content including exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and housing. You can also venture into the floating islands known as the Abyss to unravel the mysteries of the world.

Elsewhere, a few fresh faces are making waves. 'Esoteric Ebb,' an arcane-punk title inspired by Disco Elysium and built on the 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons system, has secured 3rd place with a 'Very Positive' rating. Following close behind is 'The Legend of Khiimori,' where you play as a courier in the Mongolian wilderness, currently sitting at 7th. Meanwhile, The Division 2 has jumped to 4th place, largely thanks to interest surrounding its new realism mode update.

In the peak Concurrent Players chart, a new season has pushed numbers up to 127,648, landing it in 10th place—likely aided by the appearance of Solid Snake as an operator.
