Overwatch Season 2, dubbed 'Summit', officially kicked off on the 15th. This season brings a variety of new content, including the fresh hero Sierra, the Grand Mesa Operation event, the return of the post-match commendation system, map reworks, new Mythic items, stadium updates, and a vibrant cherry blossom collection.

First up, the new damage hero Sierra joins the roster. As the security chief of the 'Grand Mesa' observation post, she has been holding the line against Talon. With a backstory involving her mother as the first subject of a soldier enhancement program, she strikes a deal with Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes to trade secrets for a spot in Overwatch. She is an optimistic, assertive soul armed with a rifle, a combat drone named Dorothy, and a sharp wit.

To celebrate her arrival, the 'Grand Mesa Operation' event runs until May 4th. Players can jump into matches and complete specific challenges to unlock Sierra’s backstory and earn a stash of loot.

Additionally, the post-match commendation system is making a comeback, allowing you to give credit where it's due. After the Play of the Game, you can vote for standout teammates or opponents, with the MVP receiving a dynamic animation spotlight before the match ends.

Season 2 also introduces the first Mythic skin for Soldier: 76, 'Current Overdrive', and the Genji Mythic weapon skin 'Sumiichimonji'. As for the map pool, the 'Lijiang Night Market' control map arrives alongside Ramattra, and look out for Jetpack Cat mid-season.

From April 15th to May 5th, the Spring Collection adds a seasonal flair to the battlefield. Hanzo, Genji, Freya, Juno, Emre, and Junker Queen are all getting dressed up in traditional, cherry blossom-themed skins.

Additionally, the LE SSERAFIM crossover event is making a return until the 28th. The returning pack is stuffed with 15 legendary skins, including Fearless, Blue Flame, and the original collaboration set.

Finally, you can now play Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch 2. This version boasts upgraded visual effects and high-fidelity audio, promising a smooth experience at up to 60 FPS in both docked and handheld modes.
