Bandai Namco Entertainment and the studio A24 have announced the release date for the live-action adaptation of Elden Ring.

The Elden Ring movie is slated to hit IMAX screens on March 3, 2028. Taking the director's chair is Alex Garland, known for his work on Ex Machina and Civil War. Garland, a long-time fan of the source material, reportedly pitched the live-action project directly to Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. This venture marks the most ambitious project in A24’s history, boasting a production budget north of $100 million. The film is set to enter production this spring, with a 100-day shooting schedule ahead.

The ensemble cast features high-profile actors including Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, and Tom Burke. They are joined by Jonathan Pryce, Nick Offerman, and Sonoya Mizuno, completing the star-studded roster. Behind the scenes, veteran producers Peter Rice and Andrew Macdonald are participating, while George R.R. Martin—the man who designed the game's world—also joins as a producer to ensure the adaptation stays true to the original's identity.

Since its release in 2022, Elden Ring has sold over 30 million units and won more than 400 'Game of the Year' awards, receiving critical acclaim from both critics and the public.
