SEGA Publishing Korea has announced that it will host the 'Virtua Fighter 3tb' and 'Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage' national tournaments at PlayX4, held at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Ilsan from May 21st to 24th. The event is sponsored by SEGA Publishing Korea and organized by the operators of the 'Retro Arcade' and 'Retro Market'. The matches will take place on May 23rd at a special stage within the 'Retro Arcade' booth, located to the right of the main stage at PlayX4.

Participants were selected over the past month through gaming communities, with a final roster of 32 competitors chosen following online qualifiers. The matches will be broadcast by AGIT, a local channel dedicated to fighting games, with commentary provided by Chun Chang-wook, a wrestling and fighting game commentator and expert on the 'Virtua Fighter' series.

The 'Virtua Fighter 3tb' tournament will run from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. It will utilize the original 1997 'Virtua Fighter 3tb' arcade hardware, featuring 32-player tournament brackets played with square Sanwa sticks and the official GPKE button layout. The winner will receive a prize of 300,000 KRW and a trophy featuring the SEGA logo.

The 'Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage' tournament will follow at 2:00 PM. After a celebratory performance, the competition will proceed using the PC Steam version. The 32-player tournament winner will also receive a prize of 300,000 KRW and a SEGA logo trophy.

Meanwhile, various side events will be held at the 'Retro Arcade' and 'Retro Market' booths during PlayX4. These include 'Sonic Racing Crossworld' mini-tournaments, discounted sales of Sonic titles, and the sale of 'SONIC & FRIENDS' and 'Virtua Fighter' merchandise.

The 'Sonic Racing Crossworld' mini-tournaments will be held daily from May 21st to 24th at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. Played on the PS5 version of 'Sonic Racing Crossworld', the first-place winner will receive a 'Sonic Racing Crossworld' package (randomly selected from PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, or Nintendo Switch versions). The second-place winner will receive a 'Sonic Racing Crossworld' eco-bag.
