NetEase Games and its subsidiary Everstone Studio are set to launch the new expansion for their open-world martial arts RPG, 'Where Winds Meet', titled 'Dawn of the Palace', on May 28.

The expansion centers on the 'Kaifeng Imperial Palace', a sprawling complex spanning over 1 million square meters, meticulously reconstructed based on historical records. It’s a bustling hub filled with over 3,000 NPCs going about their daily business across ceremonial plazas and hidden chambers. You’ll be navigating three distinct sectors—the front, inner court, and internal mechanisms—all while embarking on a quest to uncover the Emperor's mysterious treasury and playing the role of an imperial secret agent to peel back layers of court intrigue.

Fancy a bit of authentic life in the dynasty? The expansion brings traditional pastimes to the table, including cricket fighting and ice games. If you're feeling a bit cheeky, you can sneak into the royal kitchen for a bite, orchestrate a prison break, or hunt down reclusive martial arts masters. Looking ahead to June, the 'Dragon Boat Festival' theme will introduce traditional customs and the 'Five Elements' training event, both packed with plenty of rewards to keep you busy.

 

Alongside the launch, you can dive into the 'Bongjanggo' campaign, following an anonymous letter that leads you deep into the royal vaults. Come June, the 'Sokjoegak' campaign opens up the palace dungeons, pitting you against tough new bosses. Keep an eye out for 'Ibyeolbu', a boss tied to a tragic palace tale, and the rather bizarre 'Cat King', a mutated royal feline. Two additional multiplayer campaigns arrive in June as well, where you’ll need some sharp strategy to take down mythical beasts like 'Tianlu' and the 'Moon-Gazing Fairy'.
