Gryphline announced on the 13th that the massive 'Into the Abyss' update for Arknights: Endfield is set to arrive on the 16th to celebrate the game's half-anniversary. This is the largest update since launch, featuring a sprawling main story expansion, new characters, an overhauled Integrated Industrial system, and various quality-of-life improvements.

The new main story arc is set in the Eungryong Gate, which has opened for the first time in ten years following a calamity, and the toxic, forbidden northern territories. Players will embark on a journey to reclaim the homelands of the Mureung residents under the guidance of a mysterious entity known as Sa. Additionally, a personal exploration gear system is being introduced, alongside new enemies such as the boss Alekreos, the Chiliarch, and the Shadow of Erosion.

New playable operators 'Gyeol' and 'Reno' are joining the roster. Gyeol, captain of the Mureung Special Mission Force, is the first Caster operator to shift combat styles based on stat ratios, serving as both a dealer and a supporter. Reno, an idol from Lavandorma, is an electric-element supporter who uses two stances to provide attack buffs and healing effects to support the party.

The Integrated Industrial (AIC) system has been revamped to allow for material state transmutation to boost factory efficiency, and a new industrial hub, the Yeongcheondae base, has been introduced. Furthermore, diverse content such as the seasonal 'Echoes of War' combat mode, the 'Burn Bright' 2-player co-op tournament, and six new puzzle maps have been added. Early-unlock features to assist with growth and simplified equipment crafting have also been applied. Additionally, the game now supports DLSS 4.5, PSSR2, and FSR 3 for improved visual fidelity and performance.

Meanwhile, to mark the half-anniversary, Gryphline is gifting 3,000 Oroveril, 10 Headhunting Permits, and a 6-star Farsight weapon to all players who log in. The company also announced a Pica PC Lounge event starting on the 17th and a collaboration with Frank Burger beginning on the 23rd.
