With a major expansion on the horizon, the base price of 'Monster Hunter Wilds' is set for a significant cut.

Capcom announced on the 14th via the official Monster Hunter Wilds website that it will discontinue select product lines and slash the base game's price. In Japan, the original price of 8,990 yen (approx. 83,000 KRW) will drop by roughly 45% to 4,990 yen (approx. 46,000 KRW) starting August 4th. While a specific figure for the domestic market hasn't been confirmed, considering the current retail price of 84,800 KRW, it is highly likely to land in the 40,000 to 50,000 KRW range.

The developer is also shaking up its existing product lineup. The Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition, and Cosmetic DLC Pass will be retired, replaced by a new 'Gold Edition' that bundles the base game with the upcoming expansion. Fear not, though—the individual contents previously available in those bundles will remain purchasable separately after the changes take effect.

Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Wilds is slated to receive a massive expansion pack titled 'Ascendance' in 2027. This expansion will shift the narrative to the floating islands of the 'Unguh Ruins,' introducing the new 'Boost Bracer' gear and a host of fresh monsters.
