Since its explosive debut on 3 August 2023, Baldur's Gate 3 has taken the world by storm, and now, we find ourselves celebrating its third anniversary. To mark the occasion, Larian Studios has unveiled a sprawling infographic detailing the collective exploits of its player base.

Larian Studios dropped the latest infographic on the 5th, revealing some staggering figures. With 500 million mod downloads and 13,000 mods uploaded, the community's appetite for custom content is insatiable. The data also sheds light on the most frequently deceased characters, preferred armaments, and some truly bizarre combat tactics that have kept the community buzzing.

When it comes to the death toll, Zevlor leads the pack with a grim 12.31 million demises. Rolan and Isobel aren't far behind, clocking in at 8.62 million and 7.20 million respectively. Volo suffered 4.62 million times, while Barcus Wroot and Alfira met their ends 2.66 million and 2.62 million times each—with Barcus Wroot notably sacrificing themselves to windmill accidents on 2.10 million of those occasions.

For players leaning into the Dark Urge, Isobel was the primary target, accounting for 62% of their kills. Zevlor followed at 49%, with Alfira at 48%, Wulbren Bongle at 32%, and Popper at 30%. Interestingly, it turns out that non-Dark Urge players were actually responsible for more of Alfira's deaths than the Dark Urge players themselves.

The data also highlights the weapons of choice for the final showdown against the Netherbrain. The Gontr Mael saw 33.40 million uses, followed by Balduran's Giantslayer at 25.50 million, the Staff of the Emperor at 22.60 million, and the Fabricated Crossbow at 20.30 million. The Hellfire Hand Crossbow trailed with 19.60 million uses.

Special weapon records were also laid bare. The Blood of Lathander reigned supreme, deployed in over 670.47 million battles despite being a selective piece of gear. The Twist of Fortune was used over 28.20 million times. More eccentric combat choices surfaced, such as the Nutcracker—a stone obtained through a Quasit quest—being used twice in the Creche battle, and a shovel being brandished four times in Act 3.

Larian Studios also identified the most popular spots for players to get their characters tipsy before combat. The Shadow-Cursed Lands, Lower City, and Wyrm's Crossing were the top choices. A cheeky 34,204 players opted for a 'groggy bastard' tactic—drinking before taking on the Netherbrain. Additionally, less than 1% of players managed to hoard over 180,000 gold or spend more than 120,000 gold on luxuries like circus statues.

The stats go deeper: one dedicated player manual-saved 560 times in a single run, while another quick-saved over 1,400 times. Only 5% of players hoarded over 2,000 camp supplies, with a mere 1% pushing past 4,000. For the display enthusiasts, 114 people played in a 1:1 aspect ratio, while 9,008 opted for a vertical 9:16 layout.
