Hosted by Seongnam City and managed by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the Game Culture Foundation, the game culture festival 'GXG 2026 (Game culture X Generation 2026)' will feature a diverse range of programs covering creation, technology, career development, and cosplay.

The festival continues its existing collaborative programs, including Indiecraft and the game industry career program 'GV2026 (Game Vision 2026)'. Indiecraft will feature 72 companies (52 in the domestic category and 20 in the challenger tier) showcasing indie games. GV2026 will provide career and job exploration opportunities for youth and young adults dreaming of entering the game industry by inviting professional instructors from the gaming, AI development, and esports sectors.

In addition, the event includes the AI Game Sound Design Challenge (AI GSDC), cosplay dance performances, and a trading card game tournament (Pokémon Card Game 2026 Seongnam CITY Battle Tournament).

The AI GSDC is an AI-based game sound design competition held in partnership with Gamesound.ai. Participants can create and submit sounds for games using AI technology. The awards ceremony will be held on the main stage of GXG 2026 on September 12. The deadline for submissions is August 23.

The Pokémon Card Game 2026 Seongnam CITY Battle Tournament will feature participants who have passed local qualifiers and on-site preliminaries on the day of the finals. It will take place on September 12 at the Topaz Hall on the 10th floor of the Hyundai Department Store Pangyo branch, with various side events for general visitors.

The Korea Subculture Contest, supported by the Game Culture Foundation, is also strengthening its ties with GXG. This year, the cosplay dance finals and the awards ceremony will be held on the main stage of GXG 2026.

GXG 2026 will be held around the Pangyo Station Square from September 11 to September 12. Under the slogan 'Enjoying Games as Culture', the festival will feature performances, exhibitions, cosplay, and hands-on activities.
