Rebel Wolves' upcoming title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, has climbed to the very top of Steam's global top sellers chart ahead of its official release on September 3.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an action RPG developed by Rebel Wolves, a fresh studio founded by the director and core developers behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Set in a fictional 14th-century Eastern European realm known as Veil Sangora, the narrative follows the protagonist, Coen, in a world ruled by vampires. Possessing human traits by day and vampiric powers by night, Coen must rescue family members within 30 days before they are abducted and offered as sacrifices.

Back in June at Summer Game Fest, the developer teased plans for future installments set in different eras by showing a modern-day protagonist instead of a medieval one. Since then, the studio has consistently shared details regarding the protagonist's background, combat styles, and skills. All this shared information, combined with the undeniable pedigree of former CD Projekt Red developers founding the studio, has clearly driven up anticipation.

The defining gameplay features of The Blood of Dawnwalker include a dual combat system that shifts based on the time of day and a hands-off narrative structure where standing by is permitted. By day, combat focuses on swordsmanship and magic, while nightfall transforms the action into vampiric abilities and close-quarters physical combat. Furthermore, numerous events occurring across the map will impact future story progression even if players choose not to directly intervene.

Elsewhere, EA Sports FC 27 claimed the number three spot. With its launch about a month away, a surge in purchases seems driven by the approaching deadline for the Ultimate Edition pre-order, which includes early play, points, and a premium pass. Meanwhile, Bodycam took fifth place after kicking off early testing ahead of a massive update scheduled to drop on September 2.

In the peak daily Concurrent Players top 20, the Enhanced version of GTA 5 landed at number 16 with 99,893 Concurrent Players, likely fueled by the new vehicle-focused events in GTA Online that kicked off on August 27. Meanwhile, the fishing sensation that generated so much buzz dropped to fifth place as Concurrent Players declined to 240,308.
