SteamDB, where you can check major Steam-related information in one place, has joined the mod sharing platform NEXUS Co., Ltd. Mods.

NEXUS Co., Ltd. Mods announced through a notice on February 2nd that SteamDB has joined forces. Launched in 2013 as a service for the community, SteamDB has gradually grown into a major indicator trusted by global users and developers as Steam expanded in scale. However, following the departure of a co-founder, operator xPaw, who had been leading the project alone, sought a reliable cooperative organization since early this year to overcome a workload and financial limitations that were too heavy to handle solo, and to secure long-term stability and development capabilities.

NEXUS Co., Ltd. Mods emphasized that it plans to preserve SteamDB's brand value and independence without damaging them. The name, website address, existing features, and community space will continue to operate for free without changes, and linking a separate NEXUS Co., Ltd. Mods account will not be forced. xPaw will also participate in the transition work for several months to hand over operations.

However, massive investments and integrations are expected to take place internally. NEXUS Co., Ltd. Mods declared that it will break away from the solo support system by injecting regular personnel and technical capital to reinforce server infrastructure, security, and scalability, and resume delayed improvement tasks such as browser extension features. In addition, purchasing product IDs for game data tracking, which previously relied solely on donations, will significantly expand the scope of titles subject to analysis.

Expansions in mod compatibility are also expected. Years of data, builds, depots, files, and update history existing in SteamDB will be tracked and linked with modding toolkits and metadata to maximize modding convenience. Accordingly, it is expected that mod managers will be able to recognize compatibility and version-related issues more quickly through SteamDB. NEXUS Co., Ltd. Mods also stated that the mod usage system is expected to improve, such as detecting mods suitable for the version you are playing and proactively preventing conflicts due to updates.

SteamDB developer xPaw said, "SteamDB will continue to be SteamDB," adding, "It is not about changing what makes the project special, but about providing resources, development capability, and long-term stability that can no longer be provided alone."
