Look, let's be honest, Naughty Dog is currently cooking up two unannounced projects continuing the lore of its flagship franchise, The Last of Us.

Naughty Dog dropped a message from co-president Neil Druckmann on September 28 to mark the annual franchise celebration, TLOU Day. According to the announcement, the development team is pushing forward with two initiatives that push past the narratives of the original game and Part II, expanding the official universe of the series.

Specific details on these two new projects remain firmly under wraps for now. Neil Druckmann stated, "We are working on two new projects in very early stages, and we cannot say much at this point, but we can tell you that both projects will expand the official canon of The Last of Us beyond Part I and Part II," adding, "We wouldn't return to The Last of Us unless we had something meaningful to say, and we believe these stories are worth telling."

Alongside this, the studio shared a fresh development update on the upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The team needs a bit more time before giving a fully fleshed-out look at the game, and Neil Druckmann noted that to properly manage public expectations, the studio plans to keep radio silence for the rest of the year with no major news drops.

Neil Druckmann stated, "We are pouring everything into developing what is shaping up to be the most ambitious game in Naughty Dog history," and concluded, "We plan to fully unveil the game in 2027 and properly showcase Jordan's thrilling sci-fi adventure."
