Look, let's be honest about hardware pricing in South Korea. The local pricing and release schedule for the compact Xbox gamepad, the '
Xbox Nano Controller', which was revealed on the 14th, have finally broken cover.Listed on the official Xbox store in South Korea on the 19th, the Xbox Nano Controller carries a price tag of KRW 78,000, with a release date locked in for November 4. Interestingly, this puts it right alongside the standard retail price of the Xbox Series X/S controller in South Korea, which sits at KRW 78,800. That is quite a cheeky contrast to North America, where the Nano Controller drops at $49.99—some $15 cheaper than the standard Series X/S controller's $64.99 MSRP. Of course, standard Series X/S controllers are currently enjoying a hefty 25% discount across domestic and international storefronts anyway, making actual street prices lower than this newcomer.
In what Microsoft calls portability and lightweight design, the Xbox Nano Controller boasts a length of roughly 13cm and weighs in at a mere 100g. It is, without a doubt, the smallest and lightest official Xbox input device ever released. The chassis has been shrunk down enough to easily slip into a pocket or bag, making it a solid choice for gaming on the move or for younger players with smaller hands.
Even with the trimmed-down dimensions, the manufacturer has kept the familiar standard 18-button input layout intact. Do not go expecting rear buttons or advanced haptic feedback, though, as those have been left out of the kit. Power is supplied via a built-in rechargeable battery charged through a USB Type-C port, while wireless connectivity supports both proprietary Xbox wireless and standard Bluetooth.
Meanwhile, pre-orders for the Xbox Nano Controller are live right now. If you jump onto the Naver store for the pre-order, you can snag the device for a slightly discounted KRW 75,000. Pre-orders will remain open until November 3, just a day before the official launch. Best of luck securing one, mate.
