Look, let's be honest, Neos announced on August 20 that the Steam version of Culdcept BEGINS, the latest entry in the Culdcept series, is scheduled to drop on October 28. In what the publisher calls a hybrid experience fusing deck-building with board game mechanics, the game arrives on PC packed with fresh content and quality-of-life tweaks. Culdcept BEGINS previously landed on Nintendo Switch on July 16, shifting over 100,000 copies worldwide and pulling in a solid fanbase.

Culdcept BEGINS is the newest chapter in the Culdcept franchise, originally cooked up by Omiya Soft back in 1997. Cherished by fans for over 25 years, the series blends board games and card games into something rather unique. Culdcept BEGINS marks the first brand new game in roughly a decade, bringing overhauled visuals, a slick user interface, and a fresh narrative setting. You can even sample the game ahead of its proper launch via the Steam Next Fest October Edition.

The Steam version promises a smoother ride, carrying over battle maps added after the Nintendo Switch launch alongside UI tweaks that sharpen up visibility and usability. Grab the game during the promotional window, and the publisher will toss in early access bonuses for free. On top of that, a Digital Deluxe Edition is up for grabs, bundling five digital goodies including a complete card book and the original soundtrack. For existing Nintendo Switch players, a standalone digital content set featuring those exact same digital bonuses will also be sold separately.
