NC has rolled out a massive update to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Blade & Soul NEO (hereafter referred to as BNS NEO). The patch brings a chunky list of additions and quality-of-life tweaks, including a fresh side story, a brand-new raid dungeon, a PvP event, clan content, progression upgrades, and class balance passes.

The new side story dives deep into the lore of the Kunlun Sect, once one of the prestigious Eight Great Sects. Spanning eight distinct chapters, the questline lets players uncover the hidden past of the Kunlun Sect, alongside narrative arcs featuring a young Jin Seo-yeon and other key figures.

Tied directly into the new side story is the Whirlwind Temple, a 12-player raid dungeon designed as a proper, long-term challenge for the hardcore crowd. Split across three gates, the dungeon requires progressively higher combat power benchmarks to clear each hurdle.

BNS NEO is also hosting its very first PvP duel event. By equalising stats—ignoring gear, progression levels, and martial art mastery points—the developer ensures everyone fights on a level playing field. Trophies called Marks of Struggle earned through these duels can be traded in for legendary martial art tomes and more. A ranking system accompanies the mode, rewarding top combatants with exclusive outfits and illusion weapons.

Clans finally get a dedicated hangout space dubbed the Clan Hideout. Inside this private zone, members can team up to tackle a custom boss hunting ground, cooperating to take down foes and grabbing loot based on individual combat contribution.

New progression tiers arrive in the form of Ancient-grade martial art tomes, Jayun weapons, and select accessories. The crafting materials for Ancient tomes, known as Ancient Martial Art Tome Fragments, can be farmed from the new raid and Clan Hideout activities.

Class balances have also received attention. Rather than just tweaking raw damage numbers, NC has smoothed out awkward gameplay mechanics inherent to specific classes and overhauled key mapping to make pulling off combos feel much better.

Naturally, a 2nd-anniversary bash wouldn't be complete without events. The web side of things features 'Two Years of Records' to reminisce over a character's growth since day one, an invitation program for newbies and returning vets, and a lucky draw event where tickets earned through gameplay entries can win you physical prizes and in-game goodies like Heroic to legendary martial art tomes, paints, and insignias.

In-game, you can grab an anniversary event pass to speed up character growth, enjoy double mileage points for paint and insignia fusion alongside doubled daily and weekly mission rewards, flap your wings in the lightweight gliding mini-game 'Qinggong Championship' to earn Shinmok Soul Badges, and test your mettle in the normalized 'Decisive Corrupted Labyrinth' for sweet experience points.
