Koei Tecmo has announced that a new mystery adventure game based on The Apothecary Diaries, titled The Apothecary Diaries ~The False Emperor~, will be released on March 18, 2027.

This game is a mystery title where the protagonist, Maomao, investigates bizarre occurrences within the inner court. Set against the backdrop of the imperial palace, the narrative follows Maomao as clues to various incidents are uncovered to unearth the truth. While exploring the surrounding environment and conversing with characters to gather information, Maomao's sharp observation and deduction skills must be put to full use.

The core gameplay systems consist of exploration, dialogue, and medicine crafting. Players will investigate various corners of the palace to secure case-related information and obtain additional clues through conversations with residents. A crafting element leveraging pharmaceutical knowledge is also prepared, with the story unfolding by grasping the truth of each case based on the gathered information.

The Apothecary Diaries ~The False Emperor~ is scheduled for release on March 18, 2027, for PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
