Daedalic Entertainment is dropping the Home & Harbor Expansion for the submarine simulator Barotrauma on December 2. The expansion introduces player-owned outposts and sets up a fresh encounter with the Descendants, a mysterious technocrat faction.

Through this expansion, players can own, develop, customise, manage, and defend their very own outposts, delivering a completely new gameplay experience. Outposts can be acquired via story events or by capturing NPC outposts. It is also possible to progress through research trees, expand with modules, manage residents, and build workshops.

The new faction, the Descendants, brings a fresh experience to players via story, gameplay, lore, weapons, and submarines. They feature advanced technology, and through faction interactions, some outposts can be attacked or captured, while trade can be conducted with friendly outposts, creating a dynamic environment. Furthermore, deep dives into the origins of Europa and re-contact with Earth will let players explore the game's universe even further.

Alongside the launch of the Home & Harbor Expansion, a free update will roll out for all players. This update ties into the base game, expanding the Barotrauma experience with more story and gameplay options.
