Tencent's FPS, Delta Force, smashed its own all-time peak concurrent players record on Steam this past 7th. Since April, the player count has been on a steady climb, and since June, the title has firmly held its ground among the top-tier of daily concurrent players.

Delta Force carried the momentum from the Steam Next Fest right into its December launch, pulling in over 100,000 concurrent players from the start. However, the initial launch lacked the 'Black Hawk Down' campaign—a mode players were eagerly anticipating—leaving them with only multiplayer. While the developers promised a mid-season update, the eventual arrival of the Black Hawk Down mission was met with harsh criticism over unstable optimization and punishing difficulty. This stumble halted the game's momentum, leading to a gradual decline in player numbers.

The recovery began on April 21st with the launch of the mobile version of Delta Force. The PC version mirrored this energy by updating with new seasonal night-combat battlefields. By consistently rolling out new weapons, vehicles, events, and fresh content, the service expanded its reach. The game broke the 150,000 concurrent players milestone in May, climbed to 160,000 in June, and surged past 170,000 in July. On the 6th, it hit a new personal record of 177,862 and has been hovering in the 170,000 range ever since.

Despite the upward trajectory, player sentiment remains 'Mixed' (with 121,311 participants, 62% positive). While the game is praised for being free-to-play, well-optimized, and visually striking—offering a gameplay experience that feels like a cross between Call of Duty and Battlefield, paired with a fair, non-pay-to-win monetization model—it isn't without its thorns. Players continue to point out the persistent issue of illegal hacking programs despite constant bans, alongside complaints regarding map-specific balance issues and sluggish matchmaking times despite the high player count.
