The official title for the latest entry in the series has been locked in as 'Battlefield 6'.

On the 23rd, EA took to its official social media channels to confirm the name 'Battlefield 6' and announced that the first trailer will drop on the 25th (Korea time). This premiere aligns perfectly with the timeline EA teased during its earnings call back in May.

Battlefield 6 has been teasing its form since March through closed testing, showcasing various mechanics like building destruction and class-specific traits. It’s worth noting that the decision to ditch the 'Specialist' system seen in the previous Battlefield 2042 in favour of the classic class system has been met with genuine praise. Following this, news regarding class-specific leveling to unlock 'ultimate' abilities and deeper customisation options has certainly piqued some interest.

With the news of the first trailer, the volume of noise from series fans is reaching a fever pitch. Battlefield 6 has been steadily refining its quality through Battlefield Labs, incorporating user feedback and analysing play logs. Some are saying, "It’s been seven years since Battlefield 5, and I’m genuinely excited for new news," while others are hopeful, stating, "I hope it returns to the top as a legendary franchise," clearly looking for a redemption arc after the disappointment of Battlefield 2042. Naturally, fans are also crossing their fingers for a release date or pre-order details to accompany the trailer.

In the meantime, EA previously mentioned in its May earnings call that Battlefield 6 is slated for release before next March.
