Nexon has rolled out the 'Breakthrough' update for The First Descendant, the looter-shooter developed by its subsidiary, Nexon Games, on the 8th.

First off, meet 'Nell,' a new Descendant who wields telekinetic powers. Nell possesses a passive skill that marks enemies, allowing for bonus damage with both firearms and active skills. Nell also employs Arche spheres to debuff foes or dish out damage, all while leading the charge in a fresh narrative arc that pits the Descendant against the invader, 'Karel.'

The update introduces the new region of Axion Plains, packed with diverse field content. You can dive into seven new mission types here to earn various rewards, including the new 'Trigger Module' skill mod. If that’s not enough to keep you busy, there are new 'Legion of the Rift' monsters to tackle, plus a massive 8-player field Colossus encounter known as 'Wallcrasher.'

Then there’s the new 'Hover Bike,' available in three distinct variants: Standard, Acceleration, and Balanced. You can deck these rides out with various skins and attachments, and even test them out in the new 'Energy Maneuver Observation' racing content. On the armory front, you’ll find the 'Eraser,' an Ultimate weapon designed to strip enemy defenses, and the 'Exterminator,' a launcher that fires a barrage of homing missiles.

In what the publisher calls its first-ever collaboration, The First Descendant is bringing in content from NieR: Automata. You can grab skins for key characters 2B and A2, complete with themed attachments and social motions. There’s also a new wave of cosmetics, including 'Bike Suit' and 'Mechanic' themes, plus premium looks for Season 3 staples, Enzo and Inez.

Nexon is also launching two growth events. The 'Descendant Boost Up' event runs until August 25th, designed to help players in Normal difficulty transition into higher tiers. Additionally, the 'Boost Path' event will be available until September 18th, offering a steady stream of vital intel and gear.

To celebrate the arrival of Nell, there’s an event running until September 4th that rewards players for mastering the new character. During the same period, you can jump into the 'Into the Axion Plains' event, where completing specific missions yields rewards like Nell Research Blueprint Random Boxes and Trigger Module Random Boxes.
