NEXON GAMES has just dropped the first teaser for their upcoming PC and console single-player action-adventure title, Woochi the Wayfarer.

Set in a reimagined Joseon Dynasty, Woochi the Wayfarer follows the mystical adventures of the Taoist master Jeon Woo-chi. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game brings its Joseon fantasy world to life, weaving an original narrative inspired by the classic Korean novel 'The Tale of Jeon Woo-chi'. You can expect to wield a variety of spells and face off against uniquely reinterpreted Korean folklore spirits as the protagonist, Woochi.

The two-minute and twenty-second teaser builds tension by intercutting between Myoan, a shaman chanting scriptures, and a lingering shot of Woochi standing in a dense forest. The latter half shifts into high gear with a clash between Myoan and Woochi. The atmospheric score, deeply rooted in traditional Korean music, was composed by Jung Jae-il, the virtuoso behind the soundtracks for Parasite and Squid Game.

Woochi the Wayfarer is a core part of the 'Big Game' strategy championed by NEXON GAMES CEO Park Yong-hyun, aiming to deliver a high-fidelity experience capable of capturing a global audience.

To get the historical and cultural aesthetic just right, the LoreVault studio is collaborating with experts in Korean literature and traditional music. They are even going the extra mile by conducting on-site location scouting at various cultural heritage sites across the country to authentically recreate the Joseon Dynasty in 3D.
