Her rather distinct skill set—converting debuffs into damage—certainly caught the attention of the 'Successors'. With the Platon magic deck making a comeback, one might have expected Kyrielle to be the subject of intense study, but alas, she hasn't quite made the cut for the competitive Arena roster. Instead, it was Amelia who stole the spotlight. Let's dive into the latest Arena meta along with the team composition data.

Amelia, the true milestone of the Platon magic deck, sees an 8.7% point surge.

The impact of the Kyrielle update on the Arena has been, frankly, negligible. While we anticipated she would ride the wave of the returning magic-type hero trend, it seems she just doesn't fit the current PvP climate. Out of the 300 top-ranked players across servers 3, 4, and 7, only a single soul was actively experimenting with a Kyrielle magic deck.

At the very top of the hero pick rate hierarchy, 'Colt and Vanessa' remain firmly entrenched. Although their numbers dipped slightly compared to last week, they continue to lead the pack with a 60% pick rate. Their versatility, allowing them to shine in almost any party configuration, remains highly valued.

Platon looks set to join this elite rank as well. It’s become quite the trend to include him in Karma defensive decks lately. I wouldn't be surprised if his pick rate soon rivals that of Colt and Vanessa.

In a situation where various parties are muddled with specific hero stats, how much of that represents the actual Platon magic deck? We can infer this through Melcure and Amelia. The former is a staple in any Platon magic deck, essentially serving as a proxy for that archetype, while the latter is a high-end pick used by serious rankers specifically to counter defensive teams.

'Offensive Formation vs. Defensive Formation': A neck-and-neck race.

If I had to sum up the current Arena meta in one phrase, it would be 'Platon vs. Kyle'. This dynamic is perfectly mirrored in the formation and pet pick rates. The 'Offensive' formation—the go-to for Platon setups—sits at 43.7%, while the counter-play 'Defensive' formation holds 46.7%.

It’s worth noting that this is remarkably close to Melcure’s 42.7% pick rate, which I previously identified as the Platon magic deck benchmark. The pets are no different; the defensive pet 'Lu' sits at 37%, while the alternative 'Irin' is at 35.3%. Yet another chart reflecting the clash between offense and defense.

The 'Best Pick' currently dominating the Arena is undoubtedly the Platon magic deck. Even in a landscape now featuring the mighty Kyle, this combination has stubbornly found a way to reclaim its peak. The roster remains the same: three magic-types including Melcure, and Amelia. While Amelia is an offensive hero, her ability to support the team is exceptional, and she excels at applying 'recovery block' against mirror matches and defensive parties.

At this moment, Amelia isn't exactly easy for everyone to pick up. The methods to obtain her are limited, and as she was added without a dedicated summon pickup, most players are hitting a wall when it comes to transcending her. However, once you push through those hurdles and build her up, she absolutely pulls her weight. She's particularly popular among the top-tier rankers for her high win rate against Karma defensive teams.

Total War Picks of the Week

11th Round 1st Place: 'BebebebebebebeB'

While only a handful of rankers utilized Kyrielle in the Arena, the Total War scene was slightly different. When you're tasked with building 5 teams of 25 units, you need every high-value hero you can get. Quite a few rankers opted for Kyrielle in their magic parties here. Today’s featured adventurer, 'BebebebebebebeB', added Kyrielle to their Orly magic deck.

The party is built around Orly, who sits at the heart of the defensive formation. It's a high-firepower setup with four magic-type heroes in the front. Thanks to Orly's protective shield, debuff cleansing, damage nullification, and crit buffs, every member functions as a main DPS. Placing Kyrielle here also has the added benefit of keeping their secondary Platon magic deck at elite efficiency.
