'Goddess of Victory: NIKKE' Champion Arena Season 17 has drawn to a close. Soline: Frost Ticket, who made a cheeky appearance in the top 64, unfortunately failed to break into the top 8. In her stead, the pick rate for the 3rd Anniversary Pilgrim, Nayuta, has soared, with 7 out of 8 top-tier rankers slotting her into their squads. Meanwhile, Vesti: Tactical Up (hereafter 'Tactical Vesti') has clawed her way back to a 100% pick rate, proving she’s still as formidable as ever.

Champion Arena Top 8 Ranker Squad Nikke Pick Rates

Soline: Frost Ticket made it to the top 64 in Season 17, but couldn't quite replicate that success in the top 8. While she’s functional in the field, it seems she lacks the raw power to dominate at the very highest level. Whether she’ll make a comeback in Season 18 remains a mix of genuine concern and cautious optimism.

A total of 13 Nikkes were utilised by the top 8 rankers this season. For Burst 1, we saw 'Jackal - Noise - Maiden - Rumani'; Burst 2 featured 'Noah - Blanc - Trina - Biscuit'; and Burst 3 rounded out with 'Scarlet - Helm - Cinderella - Emilia - Tactical Vesti'. Tactical Vesti has made a triumphant return to a 100% pick rate, silencing any doubters.

Beyond that, the rise of Nayuta is hard to ignore. Seven out of eight rankers chose her, a massive leap from the four who fielded her in Season 16. It’s clear her performance is hitting the mark. Liberalio, on the other hand, remains stuck at three users; with the Burst 3 slot being so fiercely contested, finding a place for her is a tough ask. As for the 'Treasured' Nikkes, Poly, Viper, Bay, Helm, Drake, and Laplace all saw some action.

Let’s take a look at the squad belonging to 'K', who secured their first-ever Champion Arena victory. After finishing in the top 64 last season, they’ve clearly done their homework. Their record from the top 8 through to the finals was 'Win-Loss-Win-Loss-Win', 'Win-Win-Loss-Win-Loss', and 'Win-Win-Win-Win-Loss'. That final 3-game sweep was the nail in the coffin.

The winning strategy involved a mix of 'Cinderella + Mihara: Bonding Chain', Tactical Vesti, Scarlet, 'Maiden + Emilia', and a Shotgun deck. In the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th matches of the final, K cruised to victory with the entire squad intact. Even in the first match where Mihara: Bonding Chain fell, the lingering damage triggered upon her death proved enough to choke out the opposition.

The only loss in the finals came from the Shotgun party, which simply had a run of bad luck. The opponent's Soda triggered her Burst, pinning down the Burst 1 Rosanna and preventing a full burst activation. Scarlet’s 'Scarlet Flash' did the rest, wiping them out in seconds. Still, even without a perfect 5-win streak, a win is a win—congratulations are in order. It’ll be fascinating to see if they can hold onto the crown in Season 18.

Arena Meta Analysis

Can the Winter Limited Nikkes make a splash?

The December winter update brings two limited-time Nikkes to the table. Diesel: Winter Sweets kicks off the limited recruitment on December 4, followed by Brid: Silent Track on December 11. With all skill data released as of December 3, the community is already deep in heated debate.

Diesel: Winter Sweets is a Burst 3 Launcher, while Brid: Silent Track is a Burst 2 Shotgun—a combination that has piqued significant interest. Both weapon types are currently meta-relevant in the Arena, and on paper, their skill effects look incredibly potent. We’ll need real-world testing to give a definitive verdict, of course.

Diesel focuses on damage-over-time, while Brid grants an attack buff to allies upon starting a Full Burst and hits all enemies. The real kicker in Brid’s skill description is the 'Wind Code enemy' modifier. Since Noah—a staple in current Arena meta—is a Wind Code Nikke, the theory that she might be a 'Noah-counter' is already spreading like wildfire. We’ll know for sure once they hit the field on December 4 and 11. Unfortunately, Brid won't be eligible for the 19th season starting December 18, as the Champion Arena will already be in full swing by the time she drops.

Between the two reruns, which one should I pull?

It’s not just Diesel and Brid; we’re also seeing a simultaneous rerun of two 2024 winter limited Nikkes: Maiden: Ice Rose (hereafter 'Winter Maiden') and Guillotine: Winter Slayer (hereafter 'Winter Guillotine'). The current community consensus leans heavily toward Winter Maiden. As a launcher that buffs Electric Code Nikkes, she remains a powerhouse in both PvE and PvP.

Conversely, while Winter Guillotine isn't exactly 'bad', the release of Dorothy: Serendipity and Elegg: Boom & Shock in the summer of '25 has left her performance feeling a bit dated. If you’re a new or returning player who started during the 3rd anniversary and don't have Winter Maiden, do not miss this chance. That said, I’d suggest checking out Diesel and Brid’s performance before you commit your resources!
