The 'Ghost Deliverer', a homegrown indie horror title steeped in distinctly Korean occult vibes, has finally hit Steam.

Domestic indie outfit Team Dada launched this spooky new project into Early Access on the 19th. Inspired by those classic RPG Maker horror games that still command a cult following, it draws heavily from local folklore and occult traditions.

You step into the shoes of Haeseong, a girl cursed—or so she thinks—with spiritual powers inherited from her shaman mother. Her life takes a sharp turn when she crosses paths with the National Exorcist Association, eventually uncovering that her mother’s demise was orchestrated by a sinister sect known as the 'Jowolhoe'. Naturally, it’s up to you to join forces with the association, foil their wicked schemes, and dig for the truth buried in your mother’s past.

The gameplay loop shuttles you between the mundane world and the twisted barriers conjured by vengeful spirits. Your job is to keep the peace by exorcising these entities, which involves plenty of hair-raising exploration. You’ll need to snuff out incense sticks that keep these spirits anchored, incinerate their lingering mementos, and solve puzzles rooted in Korean culture and fairy tales. Don't worry, even if you aren't a scholar of Korean myth, the riddles and spot-the-difference segments are designed to be accessible to everyone.

It’s a classic case of gathering clues in a supernatural environment to untangle a dark mystery. The full game is slated for six chapters, with the Early Access build currently offering Chapters 0, 1, and 2. You’re looking at about 5 to 6 hours of playtime for this first chunk. The remaining chapters will roll out from the second quarter of next year, with the official 1.0 release coinciding with Chapter 5. Expect extra sub-quests, additional language support, and a polish pass by the time it officially launches.
