Naturally, this comes with a fresh set of equipment for your codex, specifically the 'Wave' and 'Starlight' sets. However, many of you are finding the completion process a bit of a headache, especially since the 5th District remains a brutal grind for most players. Mastering the Black Night 5th District codex: Alchemy and Scribe's Seals are your best mates

The Black Night 5th District codex follows a similar beat to the 4th. You're hunting for 'Wave' (Advanced), 'Starlight' (Rare), and 'Wraith' (Hero) gear, dropped by mobs between levels 125 and 131. The catch? Even the top-tier whales are struggling to push past level 127 mobs, making gear from 129 and 131 level foes essentially impossible to farm through standard combat.

So, how do you bridge the gap? Alchemy is your golden ticket. You can craft Starlight gear through alchemy stages 1-3 with surprisingly decent odds, allowing you to stockpile gear quickly. Don't let those spare Rare items from field boss chests or standard grinds sit in your inventory—toss them into the pot. Most of your +7 or +8 Starlight gear requirements can be ticked off this way.

However, keep in mind that Advanced-grade gear isn't available via alchemy. For these, I’d strongly suggest using the 'Scribe's Seal' items. If you’ve been hoarding those 'Mid-Winter Gear Growth Boxes' from recent events, you’re likely sitting on a mountain of Advanced Seals. Use them to fill out those Wave set entries.

Let’s look at some recommended targets. Items like Wave's Agony (Ranged DEF +1), Wave's Shadow (Melee DEF +1), Wave's Warmth (ATK +1, HP Regen +2), Wave's Ambition (Evasion +1, MP Regen +2), and Wave's Memory (Crit Resist +1, Max HP +30) can all be completed quite handily with Advanced Scribe's Seals.

Then there are the Starlight entries: Starlight's Lesson (PvP DEF +1, HP Regen +2), Starlight's Passion (Basic ATK DMG Reduction +1.2%, Boss DMG Reduction +1.2%), and Starlight & Wave's Spirit (Crit +1, MP Regen +2). These are relatively painless, requiring only one or two Starlight pieces and some Wave gear.

There's more, too: Starlight's Choice (Basic Monster DMG +1.2%, Crit Resist +1), Starlight's Limit (PvP ATK +1, Max HP +30), Starlight's Hardship (Accuracy +1, Max HP +30), and Starlight's Essence (Basic ATK DMG +1.2%, Boss Monster DMG +1.2%). These usually demand three +7 Starlight pieces and one Wave piece. Also, since many players are now using alchemy to flood the market with Starlight gear, prices are quite reasonable. If you've got the currency, checking the trade house is a perfectly valid shortcut.
