The writing had been on the wall for some time; their absence from the 2026 season participating team list, released on the official LPL Weibo on the 3rd, made the finality clear. It is a rather ignominious exit for a powerhouse that boasted an 11-year legacy.

To understand their roots, we must look back to 2015. After the original Royal Club—a team that secured back-to-back runner-up finishes at the 2013 and 2014 World Championships—suffered relegation to the second division, they purchased the seed of Team King to rebrand as RNG. They soon cemented their status as a heavyweight, scaling the heights of LPL with five domestic titles and claiming three Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) trophies.

The roster of legends who graced the team was nothing short of star-studded. Icons like Jian 'Uzi' Zi-Hao, Li 'Xiaohu' Yuan-Hao, and Liu 'Zz1tai' Zhi-Hao were the backbone of their success.
