After a rather tumultuous development cycle, Bungie’s extraction shooter, Marathon, has finally set its sights on a March 6 launch date.

Bungie dropped the news on the 20th via a pre-order trailer. First unveiled in 2023, Marathon has faced its fair share of hurdles, including allegations of art plagiarism and persistent development delays. However, following a look at gameplay and developer insights last December, the studio is now locked in for this March release.

Set on the mysterious planet of Tau Ceti 4, this extraction shooter tasks you with stepping into the boots of a 'Runner'. You’ll need to survive against unpredictable environments, hostile security forces, and other players, all while hunting for loot. Mastering the six distinct Runner bodies—each with unique capabilities like the Breacher, Scout, or Marauder—is essential for your survival.

Whether you’re playing solo or as part of a squad, you can even drop into ongoing matches mid-game. With six competing factions, you’ll be completing contracts to unlock season rewards, including body upgrades, starting gear, expanded vaults, and special items. For those who enjoy a bit of lore, there’s plenty to uncover through scattered audio logs, text, and graffiti hidden across the map.

The pricing is now official: the standard edition is 44,800 KRW, while the Deluxe Edition is 66,800 KRW. Bungie also announced a Collector's Edition and a limited-edition Marathon PS5 DualSense controller.

Marathon lands on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 6, with full support for Korean subtitles and voice acting.
