Pocketpair's 'Palworld', which kicked up a storm upon its Early Access launch on January 19, 2024, has now hit its two-year milestone. To celebrate, the studio has revealed some of the new Pals that will appear in the official full release.

Palworld was a major topic of conversation at launch, racking up 2.1 million concurrent players on Steam. However, the game faced scrutiny over its similarities to Pokémon, and eventually became embroiled in legal disputes after Nintendo and The Pokémon Company filed a patent infringement lawsuit in September 2024.

Despite these challenges, the team released a 2nd-anniversary video on the 19th. The video showcased new Pals joining the roster, including a lotus-shaped pink water dragon, a fluffy quadruped that appears to use lightning, a tiny bird reminiscent of a long-tailed tit with downy feathers as big as its body, and a swordfish-like creature that uses its own bones as a blade. The revealed Pals have been well-received for their cute and unique designs.

Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe stated, "The past two years since launch have been an incredibly stimulating and unforgettable experience for us," adding, "We would like to thank all the fans around the world who have played and enjoyed the game once again." He further added, "We are currently united and working hard toward the 1.0 official release of Palworld. We are developing it to meet your expectations, so we ask for your continued support."

The 1.0 full version of Palworld is scheduled for release within 2026.
