The second season of Chaos Zero Nightmare's marquee content, 'Galactic Disaster', has finally arrived.

Smilegate announced on the 5th that they have kicked off 'Seeds of Conflagration', the second chapter of their story-driven seasonal content, 'Galactic Disaster'. This new season brings a massive, fully-voiced narrative alongside a host of fresh operatives, partners, and Chaos Dungeons. Smilegate claims that this update aims to shake up the roguelike experience by introducing new progression layers to the 'Chaos' mode and refining core systems for better player convenience.

Season 2, 'Seeds of Conflagration', transports players to the underground arena of the 'Spites' planet and the chaos-corrupted 'Bern' planet. The story is split into three acts, with the first chapter focusing on the disappearance of 'First' and the secrets lurking within the underground arena.

In the new 'Burning Life' Chaos Dungeon, you can dive into 'Arena Battles' and get your hands on new 'Arena Gear' and a corresponding Refinement system. This system allows you to slap extra stats onto your gear to boost performance. If you manage to take down the boss at the heart of Chaos, you'll unlock the 'God's Hammer'—a nifty tool that lets you merge two gear effects into one, significantly buffing your loadout.

The 'Zero System', which lets you customise your Chaos playthrough, has also received a major overhaul. It now features three tiers—'Access Approval', 'Authority Expansion', and 'Administrator Mode'—which unlock new quality-of-life perks as you upgrade. Players are particularly chuffed with the new ability to reroll 'Flash' effects or clone cards of their favourite operatives.

On the roster front, we have a new operative, 'Nine', and a new partner, 'Alcea'. Nine is an Order-aligned Vanguard who keeps the team alive with shield support while dealing damage that scales off her own defence. Alcea, designed specifically for Vanguard classes, buffs the operative's defence and grants a shield whenever an operative card is destroyed.

To celebrate the launch, Smilegate is rolling out a series of events. From February 4 to March 4, players can log in for 21 days to snag rewards like the 'Signal Amplification Anchor'. Other missions and limited-time rewards are also up for grabs.
