Krafton has officially kicked off the early access phase for 'PUBG: Blindspot', the latest title developed by PUBG Studio. It is a top-down 5v5 PvP shooter that is free-to-play, and it has been available on Steam since the 5th.

Blindspot focuses on fast-paced indoor skirmishes, aiming to make close-quarters tactics and strategic play feel intuitive. Even from a top-down perspective, it is designed to offer realistic shooting mechanics and high-octane combat. With Nvidia GeForce Now support, players can enjoy the game across various operating systems.

This early access period marks the beginning of an 'open development' phase, where the team plans to actively communicate with global players and evolve the game. The developers intend to use player feedback for frequent updates to continuously improve the game's quality. Alongside the early access launch, a new defensive character, 'Blaze', has been introduced, who utilizes firebombs to execute new defensive tactics.

One week after the early access launch, on February 12th, Season 1 of ranked play is scheduled to begin. Additionally, a creator tournament featuring 20 streamers on both Twitch and Chzzk is planned to showcase various playstyles and the game's core appeal.

Blindspot is a spin-off that expands the PUBG IP universe, set decades after the original PUBG: Battlegrounds. It centers on the conflict and cooperation surrounding a device called 'Crypt', which evolved from Blue Zone control technology.

Tae-seok Jang, Head of PUBG IP Franchise, stated, "Starting with Blindspot, we plan to expand into various platforms and genres to bring the unique fun of the PUBG IP to fans worldwide." Seung-myung Yang, PD of Blindspot, added, "We chose a free-to-play model to ensure as many gamers as possible can experience Blindspot, and this early access is the start of an open development process where we communicate with players in real-time and update frequently."
