Arc System Works Asia has confirmed that the Korean version of Mebius’s exorcism action shooter, Miasma Breaker, officially launched for Nintendo Switch on the 5th. To mark the occasion, the publisher is hosting a social media authentication event.

In Miasma Breaker, you step into the shoes of Shinobu Kisaragi, tasked with purging swarms of malevolent spirits known as 'Miasma' haunting the night streets. Set across stages that blend pixel art with 3D elements, the gameplay loop involves defeating these spectres to collect 'souls', which you then purify to level up and bolster your repertoire of skills. It is a delightfully chaotic affair, especially when you start layering powerful abilities alongside your guardian spirit to craft bespoke character builds.

While Shinobu Kisaragi maintains a mundane facade as a detective agency employee, she is, in reality, a covert operative for an organization dedicated to exorcism. You will find yourself navigating eerily quiet residential blocks and station plazas, orchestrating a rhythmic dance of combat by synchronising Shinobu’s strikes with those of her spectral partner.

Between missions, you can visit Shinobu's agency to spend your hard-earned rewards on permanent stat upgrades. Looking ahead, the developer has also promised a free Nintendo Switch 2 edition upgrade pass, which is set to bring visual enhancements and support for mouse controls via Joy-Con 2.
