Cosmos Entertainment announced on the 13th that they are bumping the level cap in Online Samgukji 2 up to 85, alongside the debut of a fresh dungeon, 'Bloody Hongneung'. They’re also rolling out a hefty seasonal event to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

This update arrives as a 'thank you' for the 200% spike in concurrent players recently. The studio is clearly hoping to keep both veterans and returning players occupied over the holiday, packing the schedule with dungeon runs, crafting events, and the 'Red Hare Maiden' event.

The 'Bloody Hongneung' dungeon event kicks off on the 13th and runs for three weeks, wrapping up before the maintenance on March 6th. It supports up to 15 players at once, but you’ll have to hunt down ferocious monsters in the Hongneung 2nd zone between 6 PM and 1 AM to trigger a random warp into the dungeon.

Once you're in, 'Bloody Hongneung' isn't just about PVE; it's a contested zone designed to keep your heart rate up. You get one shot at it for 20 minutes, and with no monster respawns, you'll need to be quick and tactical. Fill that gauge, and you'll face the boss in the centre for the final showdown.

Expect a high-octane experience: if you die, run out of time, or beat the boss, you're booted back to the safety zone. You'll be scrounging for 'Blood Essence' from fallen mobs, which you can trade with the town blacksmith for a 'Red Hare Bracelet'. While some top-tier gear sticks around, be warned—most event-specific items and materials will vanish once the event is over.

From February 12th to March 5th, you can also dive into the 'Soul of Lu Bu' event. By grinding mobs in Luoyang 2nd and Hongneung 2nd, you'll snag 'Proof of Lu Bu' tokens to craft a 'Summoning Scroll'. Use this to bring out the boss himself. Defeating him grants a 'Lu Bu Soul Box', offering random buffs to your HP and offensive stats. Plus, with the 'Staff of the Horse' and its enchanted variant, you can tweak your character build quite a bit.

Beyond the festive chaos, Online Samgukji 2 is doubling down on their promise to keep the game’s economy from spiralling. They’re using AI-driven tools to balance item supply and are keeping the books open by publishing data on currency circulation and high-value gear, all in an effort to keep market manipulation at bay.
