Things are rather hectic in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, with the arrival of the 'Lycoris Recoil' collaboration coinciding with the approach of Valentine's Day. To mark the occasion, a special three-day event has been launched, revolving around the Nikkes' chaotic chocolate-related antics. Furthermore, the community is buzzing with performance reviews regarding the new Treasures appearing on the in-game 'Bla Bla' forums. We’ve rounded up the latest developments from Goddess of Victory: NIKKE following their pre-Lunar New Year event rush.

Lie cause Recoil

The Lycoris Recoil collaboration event, 'Lie cause Recoil', is officially live. Running from February 12th to March 12th, the event allows players to recruit SSR limited characters 'Chisato Nishikigi' and 'Takina Inoue' via special recruitment. The SR character 'Kurumi' is also available through attendance rewards and event missions. Dive into the collaboration story and trade your event currency for goodies like Advanced Recruit Vouchers.

A special Valentine's Day event is currently underway at the Outpost, featuring exclusive episodes starring your favorite Nikkes. The event rewards include growth materials and a special lobby background. It's a fleeting affair, lasting only from February 13th to 16th, so don't dawdle—head to the Outpost now to catch the story.

Treasure performance reviews

Have you managed to craft the Treasures added in the February 12th update yet? The lucky recipients were 'Privaty, Centi, Zwei, and Maiden'. The official 'Bla Bla' community has been flooded with commanders sharing their findings and experiments as they put the new gear to the test.

As of February 13th, the consensus seems to be that Privaty is the clear winner. Centi and Zwei are generally seen as underwhelming, while there is much debate regarding Maiden's utility in PvE beyond her primary niche in the Arena. The issue is that the Burst 1 slot is already monopolized by heavy hitters like 'Little Mermaid' and 'Liter', leaving little room for others. They might see some play in Solo Raids where five squads are required, but we’ll have to wait for the next Electric-weakness boss to know for sure.

Why is Jieun silent?

You surely know 'Shuen', the infamous Nikke, but are you familiar with her half-sister, 'Jieun'? She’s become a fan-favourite NPC thanks to her distinct dialect. She appears in the latest main scenario Chapters 43 and 44, but some commanders have been asking why she seems to have lost her voice.To be precise, it’s only the Japanese voice-over that is missing. The February 12th update notice cited 'production scheduling issues' for the omission. Other language dubs remain unaffected, so keep that in mind while you play.

The Greatest Lycoris of All Time: Chisato Nishikigi

Today, let's talk about Chisato Nishikigi. One of the dual protagonists of Lycoris Recoil, she's known in her source material as the 'greatest Lycoris of all time'. Her signature move is a reflexive ability so sharp it borders on the supernatural—she literally sees a bullet and moves out of the way.

Chisato relies on her Skill 1, 'Hyper-sensory', to buff herself. The effect decays by 1% every 2 seconds. At 100%, she gains 2 seconds of invincibility; above 70%, her attack increases; above 55%, she deals damage ignoring defense; and above 25%, her accuracy improves. She applies all lower-tier effects as well.

Her Skill 2, 'Defense Piercing Shot', allows her normal attacks to bypass defense during Burst mode. After 48 successful hits, she deals additional damage ignoring defense. Her Burst, 'Emergency Recharge', fills her Hyper-sensory buff to 100% and provides an attack boost for 10 seconds. We'll truly see her potential in the February Solo Raid, as current high-defense bosses don't provide a fair testing ground.

Chisato’s kinetic vision is, quite frankly, superhuman. She dodges close-range gunfire and swarms of assault rifle rounds with ease. She's also a crack shot, but being a pacifist, she strictly uses non-lethal rounds. The submachine gun she uses in NIKKE is also designated for crowd control.

Upon landing in the world of NIKKE, Chisato and her cohorts take shelter with Cafe Sweety. In a bizarre turn of events, they overhaul the cafe—which previously sold questionable coffee—and turn it into a massive success. This leads to a situation where Frima, who usually just sleeps, is left manning the counter and burning through cash. Find out how this chaos unfolds in the event story.

Lycoris vs. Cafe Sweety

Last time, we ran a 'Sugar vs. Frima' balance game. The commanders chose Sugar's coffee—a catastrophic recipe of 1 part coffee to 12 parts sugar. I’m not sure if that’s coffee anymore or just a liquid hazard for your dental health. Frima was likely watching from the sidelines with a look of utter indifference.

The Lycoris crew have effectively turned the Cafe Sweety shop into a branch of Lyco-Reco, and the Ark's citizens are surprisingly pleased. Given the original cafe didn't exactly have a bustling queue, this is an upgrade. If you had to choose between the two, where would you go?
