Neolithic has released a major update for its virtual reality adventure game 'Neolithic Dawn', introducing a new 'Survival Mode' on February 13th (local time). This update follows the 'Neolithic Dawn 1.0' launch on Meta Quest last December and offers a fresh gameplay experience.

In the newly added Survival Mode, players can create custom sessions without fixed objectives. The sole goal is to survive in North America 10,000 years BCE. This mode supports open access, allowing other players to easily join and leave the game world without the need for room codes. Neolithic plans to expand this mode in future updates by adding base-building features, allowing players to construct shelters wherever they desire.

With the introduction of Survival Mode, the original campaign has been renamed 'Story Mode.' Additionally, a unified save system for both co-op and solo play has been integrated, allowing players to maintain multiple Story Mode save files and play with friends. James Belian, founder of Neolithic, stated, "This Survival Mode is a direct response to community feedback. We have listened to our players' ideas and are putting in every effort to make Neolithic Dawn even better."

Furthermore, the update includes the 'Lovestruck' accessory pack for character customization. This pack features hats with heart-tipped arrows and pastel pink hair. The update also includes quick-play functionality for Survival Mode, traditional solo and co-op campaigns for Story Mode, bHaptics integration support, and a redesigned backpack (adding three weapon storage slots and improving stability).

'Neolithic Dawn' is available for purchase on the Meta Quest Horizon Store for $19.99 (approx. 27,000 KRW) or 19.50 euros (approx. 28,300 KRW). It is also available via Steam Early Access for PC VR headsets. The Meta Quest and Steam VR versions offer identical features to support full cross-play co-op.
