On the 18th, the local indie outfit SnakeEagle released their 2D platformer, KILL THE WITCH, into Steam Early Access.

Set in a grim, near-future apocalypse where a super-intelligent AI has reduced humanity to mere 'bugs,' the game follows Yona, a witch armed with a baseball bat. It’s a classic case of aesthetic bait-and-switch: behind the adorable graphics and charming protagonist lies a punishingly hardcore difficulty and a surprisingly heavy narrative.

The gameplay relies on movement, jumping, and dodging, but the real spice comes from the 'Home Run' system—sending enemies flying into one another—and a transformation mechanic that triggers once your gauge is full. While the controls are simple enough, don't let that fool you; you'll need to master enemy patterns and precise timing to survive.

The full vision includes six stages, though Early Access currently caps you at two. The second stage introduces Nana, a boss character themed around 'love.' The team intends to iterate based on player feedback, aiming for a full launch in the first half of next year.
