Hello there. It is time for another edition of Seven Knights Re:BIRTH Re:PLAY. February was packed with the Lunar New Year break, leaving most of us more focused on events than updates. However, the PvP meta has shifted once again following the arrival of 'Lu Bu' and 'Radgrid'. With a new Rare-grade hero joining the fray, PvE compositions have seen some adjustments too. We have broken down the February hero lineups and meta analysis right here.

'Lu Bu' Reigns Supreme in Offensive Decks!

The arrival of Lu Bu has pushed offensive decks to the absolute pinnacle of the PvP meta. While the delicate balance of deck matchups was briefly disrupted, Radgrid’s debut is currently acting as a stabilizer. Defensive decks continue to stack high walls, but Lu Bu remains the relentless battering ram. For now, offensive decks at their peak firepower are leading the charge.

Meanwhile, 'Sun Wukong' is making waves in PvE. Beyond the Advent Expedition team we scouted last January, he is also showing up in Siege Defense. 'Radgrid' Defensive Decks Widen the Hero Choice

From revamped heroes to Milia! Various defensive deck agents

As mentioned, Lu Bu’s arrival shattered the traditional 'Magic-Offense-Defense' PvP rock-paper-scissors structure. With magic decks struggling to survive, their pick rate plummeted, causing a slight uptick in defensive decks. However, even defensive decks found it hard to endure Lu Bu’s raw damage. It was in this climate that the new hero, Radgrid, made her entrance.

Radgrid has fundamentally rewritten the paradigm for defensive decks. With Rudy gone because link effects are no longer viable, the hero pool has expanded significantly. Researchers are currently testing everything from combinations with the revamped 'Rook', to 'Palanus' builds mixed with 'Alice' or 'Rozy', and even versatile defensive decks utilizing 'Jave' and 'Kris'.

Even the magic deck, currently the biggest laggard in the meta, is looking at Radgrid. By slotting her into the position previously held by 'Milia' in an attack formation, players are trying to meet the magic reflux conditions alongside 'Melcure, Milia, and Freyja'. It is a desperate attempt to bolster the magic deck's notoriously poor survivability.

As always, time will tell which single combination ends up with the highest win rate. Still, seeing such a wide variety of viable compositions is quite rare. In other words, all the mentioned builds have plenty of potential. The next hero release will likely be the definitive signpost for the future of the defensive meta.

Can the Magic Meta Make a Comeback?

The new scenario event, 'The Morning Star on the Battlefield', focuses on the tale of the Celestial Guardians. Following Trude and Freyja, the spotlight is now on Radgrid. But there is a fresh face accompanying her: 'Reginleif'. She is the hero we are all anticipating for the next update.

Much like the Palanus release, many adventurers are re-evaluating Reginleif’s original performance. Being a Magic-type hero, her timing is impeccable. Since magic decks are currently at the bottom of the PvP food chain, expectations are sky-high. In the past, she was armed with high-value effects like enemy formation disruption, piercing damage, critical rate reduction, turn-based buff reduction, and health swapping. These are all things magic decks desperately need, so her arrival is keenly awaited.
