The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Creative Content Agency, and the Game Culture Foundation (hereinafter the Foundation) are set to host the '2026 Game Culture Family Camp' (hereinafter the Camp) at Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, from April 10th to 11th.

Designed for families with primary school children (grades 1–6) across the country, the initiative aims to provide a space where guardians and children can bond through gaming and foster a healthy leisure culture.

The program includes family e-sports tournaments, game culture quizzes, game literacy education for parents, hands-on game culture experiences for children, and consultations on improving family gaming habits. There will also be a dedicated game culture zone for board, retro, and console gaming, plus a photo zone to capture memories.

The highlight is the family e-sports tournament. It will feature Nexon Korea's KartRider Rush+ and Supercell's Brawl Stars, complete with live commentary from a professional e-sports announcer.

For the guardians, Professor Kim Kyung-il of the Department of Psychology at Ajou University will lead a session on game literacy, sharing practical techniques on how to understand the gaming culture of the younger generation and improve communication.

Furthermore, any participating family can sign up for a consultation with an expert on managing gaming habits, where they can receive advice on proper guidance and resolving conflicts at home.

Yoo Byung-han, Chairman of the Foundation, stated, "The most reliable way to cultivate healthy gaming habits in our digital-native children is for parents to step into their world, experience it together, and empathize." He added, "I hope this camp serves as a meaningful time to look beyond the leisure aspect of gaming and discover the power of family communication."
