The Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) held its first 'Illegal Gaming Report Reward Review' for 2026 on the 12th.

In accordance with its guidelines for managing rewards for reporting illegal gaming, the GRAC assembled a review committee comprised of experts from the National Police Agency and other relevant bodies. To ensure the process remains professional and impartial, the committee added an external member to the roster, a practice that began last year.

This year's appointees, listed in Korean alphabetical order, include Park Soon-gi, Chief of the Moral Crimes Unit at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency; Yoon Bang-hyun, Team Leader of the Gambling Crimes Investigation Unit at the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency; Lee Kyung-min, Chief of the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit at the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency; Lee Sang-hoon, Chief of the Crime Prevention and Order Unit at the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency; and Jo Soo-hyun, Secretary General of the Game Culture Foundation.

Reportable activities include the provision of illegal gaming software, currency exchange or facilitating such exchange, and the posting or distribution of advertisements that encourage gambling. Those wishing to report such activities can visit the official GRAC website and navigate to the 'Illegal Gaming Report Reward' section to submit a report along with the necessary evidence.

Once a violation is confirmed, the review board deliberates to decide if a reward is warranted and the amount to be awarded. Depending on the substance of the report and the severity of the offense, up to 500,000 KRW can be awarded per case. The payment limit is 600,000 KRW per month and 3 million KRW per year per individual.

GRAC Chairman Seo Tae-geon remarked, "Public expectation for fair and transparent operation is high, especially given how rapidly the gaming landscape shifts," and urged the board members, "I ask that you bring your professional expertise to the table so that this reward system remains effective."

He added, "We are committed to fostering a healthy gaming culture by harmonizing the active participation of the public with the expert insights of this committee."
