Smilegate and developer Super Creative have dropped the final story chapter for Season 2 of Galactic Disaster, alongside a new operative, Rita, on the 19th.

The final chapter of Season 2, 'Seeds of Conflagration,' titled 'Heart, Promise,' is now live. It turns up the heat on the conflict between the Captain's crew and Tiana, finally unmasking the mysterious Rita. The supply shop has also been stocked with fresh loot like Signal Amplification Anchors and Prism Lenses, purchasable with event currency. If you are feeling competitive, the latter half of the Great Rift PvE ranking event remains open until April 8th.

As for Rita, she brings a 'Justice' affinity and psionic flair to the roster. Her kit is built around generating unique action points, effectively lowering the barrier for high-cost cards. She pairs brilliantly with heavy-hitting allies; the more expensive their cards, the more action points she generates. You can also pick up the new partner, Ivy, who boosts damage when assigned to a psionic operative using high-cost (2+) attack cards.

The environmental variable system, introduced back in February, has also seen an expansion. With new skill tree branches, you can now toggle combat buffs, unlock uncharted zones, and deploy the 'Hammer of God' more frequently. It is a tidy way to customise how you tackle this season's chaos exploration.

To celebrate, Smilegate is running a series of events. The 'Monster Arena' lets you hunt down beasts to craft monster cards for the arena, running until April 8th with Crystals and Prism Lenses up for grabs. There is also the 'Recorder of Universal Phenomena' mission event and, of course, the obligatory login bonuses.
