Party dungeon bosses have parts that can be shattered once you’ve dealt enough damage. You’ll see the gauge just below the boss’s HP bar; deplete it to zero to trigger the break. Using a weapon that exploits the boss’s elemental weakness will shave that gauge down much faster.

Succeeding at a part break causes the boss to recover its HP and ramps up the difficulty, but the rewards are well worth the trouble. If you’ve got the right elemental gear, aiming for a post-break kill is the smart play. Just a heads up: there’s no part breaking in the solo mode, so don't go looking for it there.
