A new dungeon-crawling title set in the Minecraft universe, 'Minecraft: Dungeons 2', has been announced.

Mojang Studios revealed Minecraft: Dungeons 2 during Minecraft Live on the 22nd. Minecraft: Dungeons 2 is an action-adventure RPG developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven, and published by Xbox Game Studios. The original game, released in 2020, was widely known as the 'Diablo of Minecraft'.

The new trailer begins by showing a peaceful village, seemingly reflecting the aftermath of the heroes' victory in the previous game. However, it quickly shifts to a night engulfed in flames, hinting that a new hardship has befallen the world. Following this, it showcases a massive underground dungeon where lava and cool blue light contrast, accompanied by a scene of a hero falling into the depths. This suggests the introduction of improved visual elements, such as more detailed lighting effects.

Furthermore, players are expected to step into the shoes of heroes to fend off new threats and explore various locations. Minecraft: Dungeons 2 is slated for release later this year on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Beyond the game, several other pieces of Minecraft-related news were shared. First, Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments announced their first theme park collaboration, 'Minecraft World'. Minecraft World is set to debut in 2027 at Chessington World of Adventures in London, bringing experiences inspired by the Minecraft environment and gameplay to life.

Additionally, the team announced that the 'Tiny Takeover' update, which includes baby animals and variants, will be released on the 24th, and also unveiled the 'Chaos Cube' update scheduled for the second half of this year. Notably, the Chaos Cube update will introduce Sulfur Caves along with a new mob, the 'Sulfur Cube'. The Sulfur Cube can absorb other blocks, and its properties change depending on what it consumes.
