Smilegate Future Lab announced on the 26th that it is officially recruiting participants for the 2026 Future B Challenge, an initiative aimed at crafting creative environments for the next generation. This program is designed to give children and teenagers the experience of solving everyday problems using digital technology.

The challenge tasks educators and students from primary to high school across the country with exploring social issues—and potential solutions—based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Now in its sixth year, this program has become a staple for the lab, having already clocked in over 40,000 participants from schools and educational institutions over the past five years.

The challenge is split into two distinct categories: 'Campaign' and 'Prototype'. The 'Campaign' section looks for content that shines a light on various social issues to inspire change, while the 'Prototype' section invites participants to submit working models that tackle daily hurdles with creative ideas.

You can sign up via the official Future B Challenge website starting from the 1st of next month. It is open to all educators and students from primary to high school nationwide, with the final deadline for submissions set for November 22. Successful applicants will receive a welcome kit to assist in designing their creative workspace, along with access to both online and offline training to sharpen their learning design skills.

Every child and teenager who submits their work will be issued an online participation certificate. Furthermore, selected projects will be put on display at the Future Lab located in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do. Oh Sook-hyun, head of Smilegate Future Lab, noted, "The Future B Challenge serves as a hub for future-oriented creative learning, where educators and youth build experience by tackling problems with digital tools," adding, "We hope for plenty of interest and participation from teachers keen to design their own creative learning paths."
